This role is within our Consumer Commercial Digital Products (CCDP) team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. Theres no reason the experience of buying a car should be painful and difficult it should be as enjoyable and exciting as actually having a new car. That is our mission. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars.
You will be responsible for developing front end (or full stack) software for consumer facing products and e-commerce solutions across more than 80 countries. Your responsibilities will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts, and regular product development.
You should have start-up experience where you have quickly developed prototypes and catalysed product development in a fast paced, fluid environment. You are a hands-on developer with front-end (or full-stack) experience. You are experienced with agile development and a champion of software development best practices.
This position is located in Volvos new Stockholm Software Technology Centre or in Volvos Gamlestaden office in Gothenburg.
You and your skills
You also have:
Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS along with authoring tools
Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures
Experience of SiteCore or CMS development important.
Experience developing code with AWS, Google App Engine, Azure, or other major cloud providers
Ability to do technical interviewing, to assist with building a highly functioning team of software engineers.
To succeed in this role you need to have at least a bachelors degree as well as a minimum of 3 years of work experience developing front-end software. You have gained strong software design skills and knowledge of design patterns. You should also have expertise in and experience in developing consumer-facing products as well as experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools (Jira).
You share our passion for cars and developments in the auto industry. If you have experience in Full-stack development it is considered a big plus. Also if you have understanding of CMS systems, such as Drupal and SiteCore, and have understanding of Microsoft .NET and Azure technologies and experience of developing mobile applications is considered as preferred experience.
